**All in-studio classes have been suspended** We do offer classes at our local parks, please check under class offerings for more information. Thank you!
1. What is accessible and inclusive yoga?
We believe yoga should be available to everyone regardless of ability or background. Our mission is to bring yoga to the underserved in our community. This includes, but is not limited to:
We've also removed gender assumptions, expectations and language from our classes and studio.
2. What does trauma-informed teaching mean?
Our approach to teaching is trauma-informed. Our teachers are able to identify and mitigate potentially triggering environmental and physiological circumstances while leading you through your yoga practice. With the words they choose and the postures they offer, they create a safe space for students to calm their minds, regulate their physical responses, and thus their emotions, to hopefully regain a feeling of safety within their bodies. We've also removed gender assumptions, expectations and language from our classes and studio.
3. Why aren't your classes labeled beginner, intermediate, advanced? How do I know which class to take?
Our teachers are able to teach mulitple levels of ability within one class. Variations will be shown to offer appropriate levels of challenge while respecting individuals needs and limitations.
4. What if I am not part of an underserved community? Can I still come to your studio?
Yes, please do - everyone is welcome!
Our goal is to bring people together, break down barriers, and provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for everyone.
5. What should I bring with me to class and what should I wear?
Bring your yoga mat, water bottle, and eye pillow (if you don't have one, we have some at the studio). You should wear whatever is comfortable for your body. This includes typical yoga gear, basketball shorts, sweats, T-shirts, tank tops, etc. And yes, you can wear socks!
We'd love to have you join our community of accessibility, inclusion and body positivity!
