Great for beginners! This class is an introduction to the basics of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. Students are led through detailed instructions, breaking down the fundamentals of postures, meditative breath and relaxation techniques. Our teachers incorporate blocks, straps, bolsters, and chairs into each class offering variations with appropriate levels of challenge. We make our students feel comfortable in class while respecting individual needs and limitations.
Body positive means equality and justice for all bodies. Bigger bodies, older bodies, injured and healing bodies, bodies with limitations/challenges. Yoga for all ages, genders, gender identities, ethnicities, abilities and backgrounds. A body positive approach to yoga which celebrates students’ bodies and encourages them to ask “How do I feel?” rather than “How do I look?” when practicing yoga. We make our students feel comfortable in class while respecting individual needs and limitations.
Slow flow practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation. This practice leads the student through mindful movements, meditative breath, and relaxation techniques. We invite the students to pause in stillness for a little longer in poses, but as always variations will be shown to offer appropriate levels of challenge while also respecting individual needs and limitations.
For many LGBTQIA+ people mainstream yoga can feel alienating. And what keeps us from feeling comfortable in a yoga class isn’t the yoga itself. It’s mainstream culture that’s been built around yoga and our Western society. It tends to focus on hetero or cis-normative body goals. LGBTQIA+ affirming classes are more welcoming of diverse bodies, genders, ages and abilities. This class is taught by Nichole(she/her), proud member of the LGBTQIA+ Community.
This class combines restorative poses with a powerful meditation technique called Yoga Nidra. Restorative poses allow the muscles to passively stretch, while the body is completely supported by bolsters, blankets, blocks & straps. This allows the student to deeply relax the body and still the mind. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that allows the student to systematically relax the body and mind while maintaining awareness and calming the nervous system. Perfect for all bodies and abilities.
