Creative Restorative Yoga For Children with ASD/ADHD

Join Nichole DiGiuseppi, E-RYT 200, Certified Accessible Yoga Teacher for this series she originally created for her son, Jackson, he is 10 yrs old and has Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD). She was amazed by the positive effect it had on him, especially with decreasing his social anxiety and increasing his confidence.

We will be learning and practicing, breathing techniques, mindful movement with breath, meditative techniques, & restorative poses for coping/handling your emotions.

Research has shown for children with ASD, that in addition to the typical benefits associated with yoga, increased strength, balance, coordination there is the added benefit of social-emotional skills, language/communication, body awareness, self-regulation, focus/concentration and a reduction in anxiety, impulsive, obsessive, aggressive and self-stimulatory behaviors.

Children with ADHD find it challenging to connect the body and mind. Yoga is one of the tools they can use to allow that connection to happen by learning to quiet the mind and develop concentration. Another incredibly important benefit of yoga for coping with ADHD is learning how to settle yourself when you feel out of control. Through mindful movement with breath and restorative postures they learn to increase their awareness to better control their emotions.

Wolfenoot 2019: No Hate, Only Snootboops!

What is Wolfenoot? Wolfenoot is a holiday created by a 7-year old boy from New Zealand. According to his mother, author Jax Goss, Wolfenoot is “when the Spirit of the Wolf brings and hides small gifts around the house for everyone.”  She adds that he loves animals of all kinds and has been exposed to conservation ideas thanks to her work at New Zealand’s Hamilton Zoo. The holiday is celebrated on November 23rd to mark the anniversary of  ‘The Great Wolf’s Death’. The Spirit of the Wolf is particularly kind to people who have, have had, or are kind to dogs. But all animal lovers are welcome!!

Join us for a special donation based practice with proceeds going to the Endangered Wolf Center of Missouri. Then stay after for some yummy treats in honor of The Great Wolf Spirit🐺 Come as you are or bring a treat to share!! Hope to see all of you there!!
